Dr. Joseph Cardenas Interventional Cardiologist President, Yuma Cardiology Associates
Board Certified Cardiologist with expertise in advanced, state-of-the-art technologies and procedures. Specialized in heart and vascular disease. He holds board certifications by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He completed his fellowship in Peripheral/Vascular/Coronary Intervention from Arizona Heart Institute and Research Foundation. He completed his Cardiovascular Disease from Fellowship in La Jolla, California at Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation in La Jolla, CA. Dr. Cardenas, the founder of Yuma Cardiology Associates, is nationally and internationally known for his contribution to the field of peripheral vascular disease.

Dr. German Rossell
Dr Rossell received his medical degree from University Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru in 2004. He is board certified by the ABIM in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular diseases.
He completed his internal medicine Residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.
He completed a 1-year fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac transplantation at Texas Heart Institute/Baylor College of medicine in Houston, Texas.
He completed a 3-year fellowship in Cardiovascular disease at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois.
Dr Rossell specializes in Congestive heart failure (CHF), rhythm disturbances, coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease.

Suezanne K. Martin, AGACNP-BC
Suezanne Martin is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner who has a passion for patient care and advocacy. She originally attened Grand View College, in Des Moines, Iowa, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology. She spent many years at the bedside caring for critically ill trauma patients. While at the bedside, Suezanne found her passion in Cardiology. She spent a majority of her bedside time caring for open heart patients. During this time, Suezanne further persued her interest and passion in nursing, graduating with honors, from Walden University with a Master of Science in Nursing, Adult/Gereontology Acute Care. She is also an active member of the United States Army Reserves since 2003.
Suezanne is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Nurse Association, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Sigma Theta Tau, and the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Suezanne is a native Iowan and an avid Hawkeye fan. She transplanted to Yuma in 2018. She loves the community and looks forward to "touching" the hearts of the patients she serves.

Megan McCarthy DNP, NP-c, CVNP-BC

Megan McCarthy is a double board-certified Nurse Practitioner. She is the only Nurse Practitioner in Arizona to be board-certified in Cardiology by the American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine. Her clinical training included working with one of the top interventional cardiologists/researcher in Phoenix, AZ along with other highly trained professional physicians in a variety of clinical areas. She has participated in drug, device and stem-cell research trials as a sub-investigator and co-wrote the American College of Cardiology: Case of the Year. Dr. McCarthy has over 20 years’ experience as a registered nurse working in the Critical Care and Cardiac ICU settings, specializing in acute chest pain, heart failure, stem-cell research, cardiovascular testing, analyzing EKG’s, perioperative risk assessment, medication management, and post-operative care.
Over the past 10 years, Dr. McCarthy has dedicated her primary clinical focus in prevention and early detection of cardiovascular disease in public safety members; firefighters, law enforcement, EMS, and Military. She serves as a national expert in cardiopulmonary exercise testing and has developed a new protocol to identify public safety members at risk for sudden cardiac events.
Dr. McCarthy is committed towards providing high quality and effective cardiology care for patients with cardiovascular disease. She works with patients on preventative medicine and educating them on the management of cardiac conditions. Megan believes in improving her patient’s quality of life through patient collaboration and evidence-based practice, which is why she is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Echocardiography Society, and American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Dr. McCarthy has served as the Arizona Representative for the Arizona Chapter of the American College of Cardiology belief in patient advocacy and her holistic approach to patient care.
Megan was born in Rochester, Minnesota and is the youngest of three siblings. She enjoys the Yuma area and spending time with her family.
